Davis Guggenheim, born on November 3rd 1963 in St. Louis, Missouri, is a renowned producer and director known for his work in films such as Training Day, Waiting for Superman and An Inconvenient Truth. He is married to the captivating Elisabeth Shue, born in Wilmington, Delaware. Elisabeth, an actress and writer, is of German and English descent, including Mayflower passengers. She is also the proud mother of their three children. Charles Guggenheim, Davis’ father, was born into a wealthy Cincinnati family. After a brief stint in the army, he pursued a career in broadcasting and founded Charles Guggenheim and Associates, a film production company. He became a media adviser to many Democratic political figures and was known for his work on Robert F. Kennedy's assassination. Grace Guggenheim, Davis’ sister, is a talented producer and director. She is known for her works Berga: Soldiers of Another War, Roadhouse 66, and Witnesses. Elisabeth’s brother, Andrew Shue, is an actor and writer best known for his roles in The Rainmaker and Melrose Place. He is married to Amy Robach, and was previously married to Jennifer Hageney. The Guggenheim-Shue family is an inspiring story of ambition, passion and success.
