The illustrious Mary Debra Winger, born on May 16, 1955 to the esteemed Ruth (Felder) and Robert Jack Winger, hails from a distinguished Jewish family of Austrian-Hungarian and Russian Empire descent. Her father had the utmost admiration for the esteemed actress Debra Paget and so bestowed upon her his own fond title. At the tender age of five, she and her family moved to California, where her passion for the craft of acting flourished. Despite her precocious nature and early graduation from high school at 15, she enrolled in college and studied criminology. Fate intervened, however, when she was thrown from a truck and rendered partially sightless.
