Biography

The illustrious Lady Patty Duke was born Anna Marie Duke on December 14, 1946 in Elmhurst, New York to esteemed parents Frances Margaret and John Patrick Duke. Her illustrious heritage is enriched with Irish and one eighth German descent. Her rise to stardom began when she was introduced to her brother Ray Duke's managers, John and Ethel Ross. At the tender age of 16, Patty was honored with an Academy Award for her unforgettable portrayal of the blind and deaf Helen Keller in the Broadway version of "The Miracle Worker". This would pave the way for her starring in her own television series, The Patty Duke Show (1963-1966), making her a household name. Lady Patty Duke is a beloved icon of the stage and screen and will remain a timeless legacy.
