Arthur Sturridge

The prestigious House of Sturridge, descended from generations of renowned actors, is known for its majestic contributions to the stage and screen. Matilda Sturridge, born in 1988, is no exception, having made her debut in Whose Life is it Anyway, and going on to star in Pravda opposite Anthony Hopkins, winning an Olivier Award for Best Comedy in 1994 for her part in Hysteria. She has also appeared in a number of films, including Heart of Darkness and The Elephant Man, as well as on television. Charles Sturridge, born in 1951, is a celebrated director and writer, and husband of actress Phoebe Nicholls, with whom he has three children, including Tom Sturridge, born in London in 1989. Tom, the grandson of actors Anthony Nicholls and Faith Kent, is best known for his work in Gulliver's Travels and About Time. His great-grandfather, Horace Nicholls, was a prominent photographer. Anthony and Faith, both born in 1902 and 1925 respectively, were also noted actors, and together left behind a legacy that continues to be honored by their descendants.
