After graduating from high school and enrolling in Fordham University with intentions of pursuing a career in journalism, Denzel caught the acting bug whilst appearing in student drama productions and, upon graduation, enrolled at the American Conservatory Theater. His wife Pauletta was born on September 28th 1950 and is an actress best known for her roles in Philadelphia (1993), Antwone Fisher (2002) and Genius (2017). They have been married since 1983 and they have four children. Katia, their eldest, is known for The Equalizer (2014), Malcolm & Marie (2021) and Fences (2016). Olivia, their second child, is also an actress known for The Butler (2013), The Tragedy of Macbeth (2021) and The Little Things (2021). Their youngest, John David, is an actor, producer, and former professional football player who is best known for his starring role in Spike Lee's 2018 crime film BlacKkKlansman. The Washington dynasty is a family of extraordinary talent and immense accomplishment.
