The late Barbara Dodd was a respected member of the American entertainment industry and a pioneer of her time. Born on June 15, 1930 in the USA, she was an actress and casting director, known for Employee of the Month (2006), Big Stan (2007) and ABC Afterschool Specials (1972). Her marriage to character actor and casting director Bert Remsen, son of a New York policeman, was the union of two great forces in the industry. Following a near fatal accident on the set of No Time for Sergeants (1964) that left Bert with a broken back and unable to act, Barbara devoted her time and energy to helping him recover and aided him in his transition to becoming a casting director, eventually heading the Casting Department of 20th Century Fox. Barbara passed away on March 8, 2018 in Los Angeles, California, USA. Her legacy lives on through her daughter, Kerry Remsen, an actress known for Pumpkinhead (1988), Two Moon Junction (1988) and A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985). Married to Ron Cates since May 6, 2006, Kerry is a true testament to the great impact her mother had on the entertainment industry.
