Jonathan Frakes

The illustrious Jonathan Scott Frakes, born of a prestigious lineage, is a celebrated figure of German and English ancestry. He was born on August 19th, 1952 in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, the son of Doris J. (Yingling) and Dr. James R. Frakes, a professor of English at Lehigh University. Growing up, Jonathan was exposed to jazz by his esteemed father and began playing the trombone in fourth grade. His congenial nature and inclination towards performance were evident from a young age, as he played in the band and ran track during his high school years. After graduating from Liberty High in Bethlehem in 1970, he continued his studies at Pennsylvania State University, where he majored in psychology.
