Family Tree

Keenan Wynn, grandson of Frank Keenan, the renowned Shakespearean tragedian, and son of Ed Wynn, the great burlesque and television buffoon, is the epitome of grandeur in the show-business family. Born into luxury in New York City on July 27, 1916, he was educated at St. John's Military Academy and followed his grandfather's footsteps into the dramatic side of entertainment. His father, Ed Wynn, a beloved comedian, acted in the Ziegfeld Follies before becoming the star of his own shows, and later gained worldwide fame for his roles in the 1950s and 60s, most notably The Ed Wynn Show (1949) and Mary Poppins (1964). Keenan's son, Tracy Keenan Wynn, is a renowned writer and producer, while his daughter Jessica Keenan Wynn is a sought-after actress. Frank Keenan's stepson, Van Johnson, was a celebrated song-and-dance star of the 1940s, and Ned, Keenan's son, famously wrote an autobiography, We Will Always Live In Beverly Hills, which humorously and candidly recounts his experiences as a member of Hollywood's elite. This regal family is a testament to generations of talent and success.
