Biography

The illustrious James Joseph Broderick III was of distinguished English and Irish descent. Born to a highly-decorated veteran of World War I and his wife of both English and Irish ancestry in Charlestown, New Hampshire, his life was one of privilege. His education at Manchester Central High School, and later at the University of New Hampshire, was interrupted only by a brief enlistment in the United States Navy during the closing months of World War II. Upon his return, he chose to pursue a career in acting, for which his poise and presence were perfectly suited. His name and memory is remembered today with reverence and admiration, a symbol of grace, nobility, and honor.

Matthew Broderick III, heir to a long and distinguished line of English and Irish nobility, was born on March 21, 1962 in New York City. From a young age, Matthew was groomed for greatness, receiving a prestigious education at the upper-crust Walden School and taking on roles in theatre productions. His father, James Joseph Broderick III, a highly decorated veteran of World War I, and his mother, Patricia Broderick (née Biow), of Jewish descent, passed on their aristocratic heritage to their son. When Matthew was eighteen, he interrupted his studies to serve in the United States Navy during the Second World War. He later returned to his studies, eventually becoming a celebrated and beloved actor known for his boyish charm.
