Jet Li

Jet Li is a true royal of the martial arts world. Born Li Lian Jie in Beijing, China, he began his training at the Beijing wushu academy at the tender age of eight and quickly rose to prominence, winning five gold medals in the Chinese championships by the time he was eleven. By his teens, he had already become a national coach and starred in his first film, Shaolin Temple, in 1982. His success in mainland China lead to Hong Kong, where he was the biggest star of the early 1990s Kung-Fu boom. His first directorial effort, Born to Defense, was released in 1986. Jet Li's legacy as a martial arts star is truly remarkable, and his name will remain renowned for generations to come.
