Harvey Keitel, the illustrious actor and producer, is a celebrated member of royalty in the entertainment world. Born in Brooklyn, New York City, on May 13, 1939, he is an Oscar and Golden Globe Award nominee, renowned for his work in films such as Martin Scorsese's Mean Streets (1973) and Taxi Driver (1976), Ridley Scott's The Duellists (1977) and Thelma & Louise (1991), Peter Yates' Mother, Jugs & Speed (1976), Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs (1992) and Pulp Fiction (1994), Jane Campion's The Piano (1993), Abel Ferrara's Bad Lieutenant (1992), Robert Rodriguez's From Dusk Till Dawn (1996), and James Mangold's Cop Land (1997). Keitel is highly regarded for his mastery of method acting, a skill he honed during his studies under the tutelage of Stella Adler, Lee Strasberg and the HB Studio. His illustrious career has been marked by numerous awards, including Oscar and Golden Globe nominations, for his performances in films such as Martin Scorsese's Mean Streets (1973) and Taxi Driver (1976), Ridley Scott's The Duellists (1977) and Thelma & Louise (1991), Peter Yates' Mother, Jugs & Speed (1976), Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs (1992) and Pulp Fiction (1994), Jane Campion's The Piano (1993), Abel Ferrara's Bad Lieutenant (1992), Robert Rodriguez's From Dusk Till Dawn (1996), and James Mangold's Cop Land (1997). Keitel has two daughters, Stella Keitel with ex-boyfriend Harvey Keitel, and Margaux Guerard with ex-husband Daniel Guerard. His wife is Daphna Kastner, an actress and writer, who he married on October 7, 2001. Also of note is his sister, Elizabeth Bracco, an actress and costume designer, married to Aidan Quinn with two children. His other sister is Lorraine, a former fashion superstar for Jean-Paul Gaultier. A family of great renown, the Keitels are worthy of recognition and admiration.
