Family Tree

From the illustrious Stockwell family, members of which have graced both the stage and screen, comes Dean Robert Stockwell, son of Broadway performers Harry Stockwell and Elizabeth "Betty" Stockwell (née Veronica). Harry was a replacement Curly in the original production of "Oklahoma!" and his outstanding tenor voice was used for the part of Prince Charming in Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937). Betty, Dean's mother, was a former Broadway chorine and was known by the stage name of "Betty Veronica." His older brother Guy was a reliable actor over the years, appearing in over 30 films and 200 television shows. Dean's debut on stage was at the tender age of seven in a Theater Guild production of Paul Osborn's, and his mother sent both he and Guy to an open call for a 1943 Broadway show entitled "The Innocent Voyage." The Stockwell family can also take credit for the notable Nina Olivette, Harry's former wife, who was an actress in Musical Comedy Time (1950), Not So Quiet on the Western Front (1930) and Queen High (1930). All in all, the Stockwell family is a testament to the heights of theatrical and cinematic success.
