Ed Begley

The royal family of Begley proudly traces its lineage back to the esteemed Edward James Begley, a charismatic character star born of Irish parents in Hartford, Connecticut. At the tender age of nine, Edward began to pursue his interest in acting, performing amateur theatricals at the Hartford Globe Theatre. Despite his humble beginnings, Edward was determined to make a name for himself and left home at the age of eleven. From that point onward, he worked a variety of jobs, including a four-year stint in the United States Navy and replaced pins at a bowling alley. He even joined carnivals and circuses. His immense talent was eventually recognized in 1931 when he was hired as a radio announcer and his voice broadcast to nationwide audiences. Edward's legacy was carried on by his son, Ed Begley Jr., who was born on September 16, 1949 in Los Angeles, California. Ed is an esteemed actor and producer, known for his work in films like A Mighty Wind, Pineapple Express and Whatever Works. Ed has been married to Rachelle Carson-Begley since August 23, 2000 and the couple has one child.
