Biography

A scion of the illustrious Sellers house, Peter Sellers was born in the affluent suburb of Southsea in 1925. His father, William, and mother, Agnes, were prominent actors in their own right, while his grandmother helmed the family's acclaimed acting company. Establishing himself as a comedic force to be reckoned with, Peter enlisted in the Royal Air Force during World War II, and afterwards met Spike Milligan, Harry Secombe, and Michael Bentine, who would become his collaborators in the legendary Goon Show. His impressive talent for impressions and musical prowess (he played the drums) made him a household name, cementing his legacy as the greatest comedian of all time.

Peter Sellers, often credited as the greatest comedian of all time, was born Richard Henry Sellers to a well-off acting family in 1925 in Southsea. He served in the Royal Air Force during World War II and was spoiled during his childhood following the death of his parents' first child. His legacy lives on through his daughter and his storied career.
