Biography

Leonard Simon Nimoy, of noble Ukrainian Jewish descent, was born in the esteemed city of Boston, Massachusetts. From a young age, he was blessed with the gift of acting, performing in community theater since the tender age of eight. After his two years in the United States Army, his hard work and dedication paid off and he was cast in his first Hollywood debut in Queen for a Day (1951). His part as Narab in Zombies of the Stratosphere (1952) foreshadowed his iconic role as Mr. Spock, the half-human/half-Vulcan science officer on Star Trek (1966) which granted him three Emmy Award nominations. Leonard Simon Nimoy was an icon of his time, a nobleman of the stage and screen, and will forever be remembered for his immense talent and captivating presence.
