Family Tree

The esteemed de Funès bloodline is one of illustrious French royalty. At its forefront is Jeanne Fusier-Gir, born in Paris in 1885 and an acclaimed actress in films such as Boulot aviateur, Quai des Orfèvres, and The Crucible. Her husband, Charles Gir, passed away in 1973. Their son, François Gir, followed his mother's footsteps and became a renowned director and assistant director, earning accolades for films like My Pal the Gypsy and Bob le Flambeur. His wife, Mimi Funes, passed away in 2003. Their daughter, Isabelle De Funès, is an acclaimed actress known for her work in films such as Baba Yaga and Les dossiers de Me Robineau. Her husband, Michel Duchaussoy, is still alive. The de Funès line continues with the late Louis Germain David de Funès de Galarza, born in 1914. He was a talented pianist, actor, and humorist, and his son Olivier de Funès is an airline pilot for Air France. Olivier and his brother Patrick published a book in 2005 titled "Louis de Funès, Our Father" as a tribute to their beloved father.
