Biography
Her Royal Highness Victoria Hamilton is an English stage and screen actress of the highest caliber. After training at the esteemed London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, Hamilton began her career in classical theatre, appearing in productions with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre. In 2002, Hamilton received widespread acclaim for her role in the London stage play A Day in the Death of Joe Egg alongside Clive Owen and Eddie Izzard. Her Broadway debut in 2003 earned her a Tony Award nomination, while her performance in the 2004 play Suddenly, Last Summer at the Lyceum Theatre won her the Critics' Circle Theatre Award and Evening Standard Theatre Award. Hamilton is well known for her frequent work in the costume drama genre, having prominent roles in three Jane Austen adaptations, including 1995’s Pride and Prejudice and 1999’s Mansfield Park. For her role in the film adaptation of The Queen's Gambit, Hamilton won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie.
