Born in Stockholm, Sweden on August 29, 1915 to a German mother and Swedish father, Bergman was a natural and unpretentious beauty with immense acting talent. Her Oscar-winning prowess is only surpassed by the legendary Katharine Hepburn, and matched by Meryl Streep and Frances McDormand. Her daughter, Isabella Rossellini, is also a respected actress and model, born into the world of cinema on June 18, 1952 in Rome as the daughter of two legends, Bergman and neo-realist master Italian director Roberto Rossellini. Rossellini, a creator of neo-realism, was born on May 8, 1906 in Rome and influenced the nouvelle vague movement and American directors like Martin Scorsese. His daughter also married Scorsese from 1979 to 1982, and was the partner of legendary director David Lynch. Pia Lindström, another daughter of Bergman, is an actress and producer, married to John Halliday Carley since August 4, 2000. Through their familial connections, these three generations of movie royalty have left a lasting impact on the industry.
