Donnie Yen

Donnie Yen was born to a distinguished family of extraordinary heritage. His mother, Master Bow-sim Mark, was a renowned Kung Fu master, while his father, Kylster Yen, was a celebrated newspaper editor and amateur musician. His parents' influence led Donnie to develop an impressive level of proficiency in both music and martial arts from an early age. As a child, Donnie moved with his family from Guangzhou, China, to Hong Kong, and eventually to Boston, Massachusetts, where his mother became a pioneer for Chinese martial arts. Despite his parents' teachings, Donnie established his own identity through rebellious pursuits, such as training in various martial arts, including Japanese karate, Korean taekwondo and western boxing. His unique combination of talents would later prove to be of great significance.
