Claud Cockburn

Olivia Wilde is a modern day royal, a celebrated actress and activist born in New York City on March 10, 1984. Hailing from an upper-class British family, Wilde is the middle child of Leslie Cockburn (née Leslie Corkill Redlich) and Andrew Cockburn, who was born in London, England and later became a citizen of Ireland. Her father, educated at the Universities of Oxford, Budapest and Berlin, was a New York and Washington correspondent for The Times newspaper in 1929, and went on to found his own news-sheet The Week. Wilde's uncle is actor George Wendt. Her husband, Jason Sudeikis, is of Lithuanian, Irish and German descent. Wilde's esteemed family includes her mother Leslie Cockburn, a producer and writer, and her late grandfather, Michael Flanders, a writer and actor. With her modern day Renaissance spirit, Wilde is an inspiration to all.
